Our
Story

Since 2010, Ignitia has been at the front lines of climate resilience.
Starting off as a deep tech initiative among a team of physicists, meteorologists, and engineers, Ignitia recognized a major barrier preventing growth in low and middle income countries: poor weather data.
With heavily weather-dependent industries, including agriculture, driving economies and with climate change upending legacy systems, Ignitia built an industry-leading, remote-sensing and AI-driven weather model that vastly outperforms alternatives, even in the absence of high density observation data (like weather balloons, radar networks and weather stations).
Since then, we’ve leveraged 10+ years of high-resolution numerical model data from our founding to train AI-based models, which outperform both legacy and newer AI-only models, especially in areas hardest hit by extremes and microclimate variations driven by climate change.
